Instant Theatre is a music and theatre show produced by Reese and playwright Nina Ki, featuring Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) creatives.
With the rise of anti-Asian hate during the COVID-19 pandemic, Nina and Reese created Instant Theatre as a space for AAPI creatives to find some levity and empowerment. Audience members suggest a prompt. While Reese improvises a song based on that prompt, Nina (or sometimes a guest playwright) writes a one-minute play for our guest actors to bring to life. Each show highlights a different AAPI organization for audience members to support.
